Le Morne
Le Morne Brabant is the most recognisable landform in Mauritius and a UNESCO World Heritage site. The mountain rising behind a turquoise lagoon gives the single most dramatic backdrop available on the island.
Best time to shoot here
Late afternoon light sculpts the mountain face; the hour after sunrise gives the cleanest lagoon colour with almost nobody around. Wind is a genuine factor here and affects veils, dresses and drone work.
Getting there and access
The public beach at Le Morne is reached by a signposted road past the resorts. Allow extra travel time from the north — it is roughly ninety minutes from Grand Baie. Drone flights are confirmed per session.
