About Zouphotos
Zouphotos is the studio of Zuhayr Cadersaib, a photographer based in Mauritius and working across the whole island.
The story
I grew up on this island and started photographing it long before it became work. Zouphotos began with friends' weddings and grew into a full studio serving couples, families and visitors from all over the world. Everything I shoot happens within a short drive of the coast, the mountains or the sugar-cane plains, and that variety is the reason the work never repeats itself.
Approach and style
I work quietly and document as much as I direct. Expect natural light, honest colour and gentle guidance rather than stiff posing. Sessions are planned around the light, so we often start early or finish at sunset, and I will tell you honestly when a location will not work at the hour you had in mind.
Equipment and reliability
Every booking is covered by two camera bodies, duplicate lenses and dual card recording, so no single failure can cost you your images. Files are backed up the same evening to two separate drives and to cloud storage. The business is insured and I carry the paperwork venues and resorts ask for.
Languages and coverage
I work in English, French and Mauritian Creole, which matters when a ceremony mixes families from different countries. Coverage includes the whole island: the north around Grand Baie, the west coast, the wild south, the east coast resorts and the central plateau, with travel included on most packages.
Why couples fly here
Mauritius gives you lagoon, mountain and plantation backdrops within the same day, warm light for most of the year and a straightforward legal process for foreign couples. Most of the people I photograph combine the shoot with their honeymoon, which is why I plan sessions around rest as much as around light.
