Grand Baie
Grand Baie is the busiest stretch of coast in Mauritius and the base for most visitors staying in the north. The bay itself is sheltered and photogenic, but the public beach fills quickly, so sessions here are built around timing rather than exclusivity.
Best time to shoot here
Sunrise is quiet and empty here; sunset is beautiful but shared with a great many people. For couple and honeymoon sessions we usually start ninety minutes before sunset and move to the quieter coves towards Pereybere as the light drops.
Getting there and access
Parking is straightforward outside the peak evening hours. The public beach requires no permission. Sessions inside hotel grounds require the hotel's consent, which we arrange in advance.
